ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS &PROGRESSION STRUCTURE
The Institute for African Church Movement (IACM), in alignment with its vision and academic standards, has developed a clear and inclusive admissions and academic progression policy. This section outlines the entry qualifications, progression expectations, and transfer policies across all academic levels.
General Admission Philosophy

IACM welcomes students from diverse backgrounds who are called to serve in the African Church movement and possess a commitment to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community transformation. Admissions shall be merit-based and ministry-driven, ensuring equity, theological integrity, and contextual relevance.

Entry Requirements by Academic Level
Certificate Program (Year 1)
  • Minimum of 3 passes in O’Level examinations (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB), including English Language or
  • Recommendation from a recognized Christian body/ministry
  • Mature applicants (25 years and above) with ministry experience may be considered under special admission
  • Certificate from IACM or an equivalent recognized institution
  • 5 O’Level credits, including English Language and any relevant Arts or Social Science subjects
  • Direct entry for candidates with ministerial or professional certification may be evaluated
  • Diploma in a related field from IACM or an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated capacity for independent learning and basic research
  • Successful completion of bridging courses, where applicable
  • Advanced Diploma from IACM or equivalent with good academic standing
  • Satisfactory performance in cumulative coursework and leadership development modules
  • Transfer students from recognized theological institutions may be admitted into Year 4 upon transcript evaluation
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Theology, Social Sciences, or any related field
  • Ministry or organizational leadership experience is an added advantage
  • Completion of a qualifying essay or entrance exam may be required
  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum second-class lower division
  • Postgraduate Diploma holders with strong performance and work experience may be considered
  • Submission of research proposal and oral interview
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Strong academic record, research proposal, and two academic/professional references
  • Minimum of 3 years ministry, academic, or leadership experience
  • Interview and proposal defense before approval
  • Students transferring from recognized theological institutions may receive credit for equivalent courses upon transcript evaluation.
  • Ministry Experience-Based Entry (MEPE) may be granted for mature applicants with documented field experience.
  • Bridging courses may be required to align with IACM’s curriculum standards.
