The Faculty of Behavioral Studies (FBS) is committed to exploring the human mind, emotions, relationships, and societal behaviors from a distinctly Christian and African perspective. This faculty seeks to address the deep psychological, emotional, social, and cultural needs facing individuals, families, churches, and communities in Africa and around the world.

Department of Christian CounseLing and Psychology

This department provides a biblical and psychological foundation for pastoral counseling, mental health care, and emotional healing. It integrates scriptural truth with contemporary counseling theories and techniques. Students are trained to serve as Christian counselors, mental health workers, and emotional care practitioners, equipped to support individuals, families, and congregations in need.

Focusing on the complexities of modern family life and trauma recovery, this department equips students to address issues such as family dynamics, domestic abuse, grief, emotional wounds, and post-traumatic stress. Through case studies, therapy models, and faith-based interventions, students learn to minister healing and restoration to broken lives and relationships.

This department examines the psychology of leadership, decision-making, motivation, personality, and interpersonal influence. It provides insights into human behavior that enhance leadership effectiveness in both church and organizational settings. Students develop self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and behavioral strategies for managing teams, change, and conflict.

This department explores social structures, institutions, customs, and challenges within African societies. Students analyze the impact of cultural norms, religion, economics, gender roles, and globalization on social behavior and Christian ministry. The department emphasizes contextual engagement, social transformation, and the role of the Church in addressing social issues.

This department investigates the nature, identity, and purpose of human beings from a Christian theological and cultural perspective. It contrasts biblical anthropology with secular and traditional African views of humanity. Topics include creation, the fall, human dignity, gender, culture, and the destiny of humankind. Students are prepared to respond thoughtfully to issues related to identity, morality, and cultural worldview.

The Department of Philosophy provides a foundational exploration of human thought, reason, ethics, logic, and metaphysics from both classical and contemporary perspectives. Rooted in a Christian worldview, the department engages with African philosophical traditions and global philosophical thought to equip students with critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and moral clarity.

This department addresses key philosophical questions about existence, knowledge, values, faith, culture, and human destiny. Students are trained to think theologically and philosophically, fostering the intellectual depth necessary for ministry, counseling, leadership, and academic engagement.

 The Department of Advanced Clinical Studies is established to provide in-depth training in clinical and therapeutic practices from a Christian worldview. This department focuses on equipping students with advanced skills in psychological assessment, clinical intervention, mental health care, and holistic healing strategies that integrate biblical truth, pastoral sensitivity, and professional competency.
