Departments:
Core Goals:
The Department of Theology and Sustainable Development pioneers the integration of theological education with sustainable community transformation, agro-mission, food systems, ecological stewardship, and indigenous health practices. It equips Christian leaders, scholars, and practitioners to engage biblical principles for land, food, healing, and development.
Rooted in African theological traditions, the department explores innovative and practical solutions to poverty, environmental degradation, and food insecurity. It fosters faith-based engagement in agriculture, food processing, medicinal herb development, and sustainable livelihoods, preparing graduates for holistic rural and urban mission.
This program combines scientific knowledge of food technology with Christian values and entrepreneurial skills to prepare students for impact in food processing, product innovation, herbal nutrition, and sustainable business practices. Students are trained to apply their faith in creating safe, nutritious, and ethical food products that contribute to health, community development, and economic empowerment.
The program addresses African food traditions, herbal processing, Christian healing practices, ethical business models, and value chain innovation. It equips graduates to launch or lead faith-driven food enterprises, manage production, and advocate for justice in food systems.
The Department of African Spiritual Geography, Eco-Theology, and Religious Tourism explores the theological, spiritual, ecological, and missional dimensions of geography and sacred space within the African Christian context. It integrates biblical perspectives on land, place, and creation with practical tools such as prayer mapping, environmental stewardship, heritage tourism, and spiritual pilgrimage.
This department is uniquely designed to equip Christian leaders, ministers, researchers, and development practitioners with insight into the spiritual realities of physical territories, the ecological significance of creation, and the transformative potential of faith-based tourism.
It recognizes that land is not just a physical asset but a spiritual trust, a theological testimony, and a platform for mission and healing. The department also affirms the value of Africa’s rich Christian heritage—its sacred sites, revival movements, and church traditions—as a basis for religious tourism, education, and economic empowerment.
